This programme is designed for children and teenagers who want to learn dance in a more structured cycle, with 4 different courses offered by Jazz Dance Academy Montreux

Are you interested in and passionate about dance? Would you like to go a step further in learning to dance? Would you like to take part in different artistic dance projects? Do you dream of being a performer?
This programme is available to students aged 6 to 17, allowing them to progress between courses, with support from the academy.

Our programmes include classes in jazz/modern jazz, classical, pointe, contemporary, variations, junior JDA and apprenticeship with Junior Jazz Ballet Montreux, in a caring and stimulating environment. The different teachers will guide you and help you progress in the different styles.

4 courses by age group

Students can progress from one course to the next as their age and progress.

• JDA Primary (aged 6 to 8)
• introductory jazz class +1 introductory classical class
• JDA Pré-junior (from 8 to 11 years old)
• 1 preparatory jazz class +1 preparatory classical class +1 preparatory contemporary class.
• JDA Junior 1 (aged 11 to 13)
• 1 JDA Junior 1 class + 1 jazz class cycle 1 + 1 classical class cycle 1 +1 contemporary class cycle 1
• JJBM apprentices
• JDA Junior 2 (aged 13 to 17)
• 1 JDA Junior 2 class +1 jazz class cycle 2 or cycle 3 +1 classical class cycle 2 or cycle 3 +1 contemporary class cycle 2 or cycle 3
• JJBM apprentices

Annual project

• Dance assessment (December)
• Dance video clip from the academy (January or February, no obligation, depending on the choice of the class by the management each year)
• Participation in the dance competition for 11 year olds (February/March)
• Preparation for the entrance exam to dance colleges *
• Dance show (June)
• Junior Jazz Ballet Montreux apprentices from age 11 (JJBM)
• Personal report at the end of each semester (February and June)
• Interview between parents and management (at the parents' request or at the management's suggestion, maximum two interviews)

* Option to be discussed at the start of the season with the management in relation to the dance competition + entry to higher education establishments.
